2025 Hong Kong Weekend Exhibition Visit to Cishan Temple Buddhist Art Museum

Cishan Temple Buddhist Art Museum might be one of the hardest free museums to enter in Hong Kong. First, you need to book tickets for Cishan Temple, limited to 400 people per day.
The museum is located at the base of the Guan Yin statue, open from 10:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 17:00.
The museum is not very large, mainly featuring statues of Buddha, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats from China, India, East Asia, and Southeast Asia, ranging from the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Republic of China period, including many masterpieces.
The museum also exhibits Tang Dynasty hand-copied Buddhist scriptures and sutra pillars, among which the Buddha image painted on a Bodhi leaf (photo 5) is something I saw for the first time.
Before each visit, you must watch a four-minute introduction video, and recording is not allowed.
Volunteers at the museum also provide free guided tours in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
