Shatin The Palate Dinner Buffet third session seating at 19:30 is still so packed

Shatin Royal Plaza Hotel, 3rd Floor, The Palate
Many diners say the buffet here is worth it.
I came for dinner on a Thursday after work,
thinking the third session at 19:30 wouldn’t be too crowded.
But there was a long queue, and inside was fully seated 😱

‼️ Worth it
🦪 Freshly shucked large American oysters, very fresh
💦 Chilled seafood mountain with crab legs, clams, lobster, prawns, mussels, constantly refilled with no need to fight for them‼️ Highly recommend having several rounds of lobster meat, thick, firm, and bouncy
🐮 Japanese Saga Wagyu beef, cooked to order, including Wagyu teppanyaki thin slices, salted koji grilled, etc. The fat is rich and flavorful with a strong beef taste
🔥 Pan-seared cheese Wagyu burger, I saw diners at the next table eat it three times 🤣 Staff will ask if you want it served on a hot plate; if yes, they will teppanyaki the burger on the spot and add sauce, so you can eat it hot right away
🐟 There are eight kinds of sashimi; the top recommendations are scallops, surf clams, and Argentine red prawns. These special varieties are very fresh. I kept eating Argentine red prawns and took up to three each time
🎨 The plated desserts are quite attractive and colorful. No matter how many words you write, the staff will write them for you 🤪 But the molten lava cake takes some time to come out, and it’s very gooey inside

There are also surprises in the drinks
‼️ Unlimited red and white wine
At designated times, there is a bartender 🥂 making cocktails and mocktails on the spot
That day’s cocktail was whiskey lemon soda
The mocktail was a pineapple coconut special drink

Personally, I think The Palate has a lot of special food and drinks.
I chose the third session,
which is from 19:30 until 22:00.
Monday to Thursday costs $443 plus service charge.
Two and a half hours is enough to eat.
I saw most people leave after about two hours.
