Houston Botanic Garden

Twilight Among the Tropicals

I visited the Houston Botanic Garden near dusk, and even without a big event, it felt like stepping into a spell. The tropical house glowed under amber lights, while the breeze carried the scent of damp leaves and earth. There’s something haunting about seeing palm fronds sway against a fading orange sky. If you go around Halloween, the paths are quieter — just crickets, distant city sounds, and the faint rustle of wings. It’s nature’s version of a haunted house, all whispers and shadows.
