Take advantage of the tail end of summer vacation to travel to Huangshan with two kids (9 and 13 years old). Considering the limited stamina of the children and myself, plus Huangshan’s famous steepness and stairs, we planned a relaxed route that basically covers all the main attractions, and the kids didn’t complain about being tired.
This autumn and winter, you can refer to this route to plan a trip to Huangshan⛰️, where you can enjoy the sea of clouds, sunrise, sunset, starry sky all at once, plus the stunning strange pines and weird rocks waiting for you to check in!
🌄 Itinerary:
Day 1:
📍Yungu Cableway Up: Arrive at 12 PM to avoid peak crowds (Address: Yungu Temple Station, Huangshan Scenic Area)
📍Shixin Peak: Known as "No visit to Shixin Peak, no sight of Huangshan pine," you can see the Phoenix Tail Pine, Intertwined Pines, and other strange pines (Open all day)
📍Monkey Watching the Sea: Super cute monkey-shaped rock, remember to take a photo with it (Address: Beihai Scenic Area)
📍West Sea Scenic Area: You can take the popular little train route and enjoy the spectacular valley views (Recommended 2 hours)
📍Stay at Bai’e Mountain Villa: Great location with sunset views right at the door (Address: Beihai Scenic Area, Huangshan Scenic Area)
✨ Starry Sky Moment:
In the evening, you can enjoy a stunning sunset right at the door of Bai’e Mountain Villa, and at night see a sky full of stars. It’s so pleasant to chat with friends while stargazing!
Day 2:
🌅 Sea of Clouds Sunrise:
Wake up at 5 AM to grab a good spot (Winter sunrise around 6:30 AM). The breathtaking sea of clouds sunrise is a must-see! After watching, you can go back to the hotel for a nap~
📍Bright Summit Peak: The second highest peak of Huangshan with a super wide view (Altitude 1860 meters)
📍Yuping Scenic Area: Home to the famous "Yuping Sleeping Buddha" view
📍Lotus Peak: The highest peak of Huangshan (Altitude 1864.8 meters), with excellent views from the summit
📍Tiandu Peak: Currently under rest and maintenance, but you can admire its majestic posture from afar
📍Welcoming Pine: Iconic spot, a must for photos (Address: In front of Yuping Building)
📍Yuping Cableway Down: End your perfect trip
📝 Practical Tips:
1⃣ Book mountain hotels in advance! They are very popular during holidays
2⃣ Remember to bring a raincoat, as the weather on the mountain changes frequently and it can rain anytime
3⃣ Travel light up the mountain, you can store extra luggage
🍲 Food Recommendations:
After descending, try authentic Huizhou cuisine at [Huangshan Chinese Restaurant]. Stinky mandarin fish and Mao tofu are specialties.
