A Huizhou surprise by the small river! The ancient bridge atmosphere is fully immersive

Who would have thought! Found a "reluctant to leave" guesthouse in Chengkan, Huangshan 😭 The Yidetang of the 35th generation descendants of the Luo family is just amazing!
·
📍A hidden Huizhou boutique stay by the small river
The guesthouse is located on the east side of the village by the riverbank 🌊 with stone slab bridges on both sides leading right into the village. It’s 40 km north of Huangshan, 15 km south of Huizhou District government, super convenient after visiting Huangshan~ Right at the door is the 700-year-old Yuan Dynasty Huanxiu Bridge 🌉 A 250-meter walk to Mr. Luo Dongshu’s Ancestral Hall, and just minutes to Zhongying Building, Yanji Hall, and Yongxing Lake.
·
🚪Surprise behind the 400-jin stone brick door
Opening the heavy stone brick door, the word “Shede” (willing to part) instantly struck me ✨ This is the owner’s philosophy of life! The front hall’s open-air courtyard — the ground paved with water-permeable stone slabs has been transformed into a fish pond, with fish swimming leisurely 🐟 Look up to see blue skies and white clouds, and at night you can watch the Milky Way spill down. The traditional courtyard vibe has been elevated to a new level!
·
🏠The old house’s new gentleness
A two-story all-wood building, fully embracing Ming and Qing styles! Winter melon beams and loofah columns paired with vivid wooden ox-leg carvings 🎨 The wood, stone, and brick carvings all carry the authentic Huizhou flavor~ Except for thoughtful renovations in the guest room bathrooms, stairwell, and second-floor outer windows, the rest retains the traditional layout. The blend of old and new is just right, making the stay comfortable and full of charm!
·
🍲Warm hospitality from the owner couple
The newly built restaurant kitchen in the backyard is a foodie’s dream! Order dishes in advance 📱 and come back to hot meals ready to eat~ In winter, a sip of the eyebrow-raisingly fresh soup warms you up completely! Prices are normal for a scenic area, but the taste is super authentic, perfectly capturing the cozy feeling of home-cooked food 👌 The owner and his wife also proactively offer travel tips, as warm and friendly as family ❤️
·
💫Many experiences
The small river in front of the house flows gently, perfect for kids to catch fish and shrimp for an afternoon of fun 🥰 Behind the house, the pastoral mountains and fields look like ink paintings. Watching the villagers diligently farming instantly makes you forget the city’s hustle and bustle~ The room types are very diverse, suitable for families with kids, couples, solo travelers — everyone can find a place to belong. Tea room, study, lounge are all available, perfect for daydreaming, tea drinking, and chatting!
The sky blue awaits the misty rain, and I’m waiting for you at Yidetang~ Stay here in Chengkan, close your eyes and you won’t go wrong!
