Kyoto - A building that looks like it's floating on the sea: Ine no Funaya

Ine Funaya is located in Ine town in northern Kyoto.
Funaya are facilities that were originally built to pull boats out of the sea and protect them from wind, rain, and insects, with the first floor being a garage for boats and the second floor being secondary living quarters.
Ferries depart from Ine, where you can feed the seagulls and view the townscape of Ine's funaya!
