Türkiye | Two mosques seen from Sultanahmet Park

From Sultanahmet Park, you can see two historic mosques.

・Hagia Sophia

A representative relic of the Eastern Roman Empire, it is considered the greatest masterpiece of Byzantine architecture.

Due to its history and grandeur, it was used as a prestigious mosque even during the Ottoman Empire, despite being a Christian building.

・Sultanahmet Mosque

It is the only one in the world with six elegant minarets and a large dome with a diameter of 27.5m. The interior is decorated with tens of thousands of blue decorative tiles and stained glass, and is also known as the Blue Mosque due to the beauty of the blue color on a white background.

There are probably not many parks in the world where you can see two of these great historic buildings side by side.

The park is well-maintained and comfortable.

There are also many street vendors.

There are also public toilets scattered around, so you won't feel inconvenienced when walking around.

There are also many cafeterias and souvenir shops, so it is a must-visit when touring Istanbul!
