Ito's old, long-established inn, "Tokaikan"

It went out of business as a hot spring inn in 1997, but was donated to Ito City and became a tourist facility in 2001.

I mistook it for a hot spring and didn't go inside.

There are also exhibits of literary masters such as Yasunari Kawabata, Toson Shimazaki, and Akiko Yosano, and you can freely explore the museum for an admission fee of 200 yen.

A beautiful sunrise and sculptures of cranes, turtles, and carp greet you at the entrance.

After researching, it seems that the architecture inside was also wonderful.

I regret not being able to go inside. 😭

The beauty of the illuminated Tokaikan at night is like Spirited Away.

The museum also has a day spa that appears in the manga "Thermae Romae."

The view from the Matsukawa Promenade was also wonderful.
