Must-See Ruins in Izmir

Izmir, formerly known as Smyrna, was once a major ancient city. The Ancient Agora ruins were originally a three-story public building, but it collapsed due to an earthquake.

The site is quite expansive, with well-preserved arches and columns, and water systems running throughout, giving a glimpse of how magnificent the structure must have been in its prime. As I explored, I couldn't help but imagine how incredible it would be if it were reconstructed✨.

It's a hidden gem with few tourists around, making it a peaceful spot to visit!

At the souvenir shop, there were adorable cats, and plenty of Agora-themed merchandise for sale!
