Enter the breathtaking Niweng Cave, also known as Chuyang Valley, within the Xiandu Scenic Area in Zhejiang Province. Three caves of varying sizes are formed along the mountainside by natural topography. Inside, a cliffside inscription of the characters "Niweng Cave" (Niweng Cave) is inscribed by a Tang Dynasty calligrapher. Another highlight is the inscription of the three characters "Chuyang Valley" (Niweng Cave), written by Yan Zhenqing. The character "Chu" is missing a small dot, supposedly filled in by the morning sun—a brilliant stroke of ingenuity! The cave features works by literati from the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, and modern dynasties. The largest work is a reclining statue of Niweng, accompanied by a white ape. The story of Niweng and the ape, combined with the unique scenery of Xiandu, is the main attraction of Niweng Cave!
