Megijima, about a 20-minute ferry ride from Takamatsu City in Kagawa Prefecture, is a unique island known as "Onigashima," the island that appears in the legend of Momotaro. 🏝️
The Onigashima Cave, located deep in the island's mountains, is a massive cavern measuring approximately 400 meters in length. It's filled with exhibits recreating demons' dens and other slightly scary and amusing features. 👹✨
The day I visited was cloudy, and the cool air and dim atmosphere inside the cave made it the epitome of adventure.
Walking through the cave, lined with demon statues and ancient tools, made me feel like I'd wandered into a fairy tale world. 📸
There's also an observation deck outside the cave, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Seto Inland Sea!
It's a fun place to explore as a couple and relive your childhood, or you can immerse yourself in the world of stories on a solo trip.
