Kagoshima-Senganen Guest House (additional charge required)

The "Guest House" in Senganen is a Western-style building of great historical value. In the past, it was an exclusive space for the Shimazu family to receive royal family and foreign guests. Now it is open to general tourists (but additional tickets are required). The whole building combines Japanese and Western styles, and is very exquisite from building materials to interior decoration. It is one of the symbols of Kagoshima's modernization history.

The interior of the Guest House is very well preserved, including the reception room, Japanese-style room, Western-style restaurant and corridor, and also displays the utensils and furniture used to receive the royal family. Standing by the window in the museum, you can see the magnificent view of Kinko Bay and Sakurajima, which is a very rare perspective.

The overall visit time is about 30 to 40 minutes. The museum provides Chinese introductions and can also book guided tours. It is worth a visit for travelers who like history and architecture.
