Kakadu is rugged, vast, and spiritual. I explored Ubirr and watched the sunset from a rocky lookout while overlooking the floodplains—one of the most powerful views I’ve ever witnessed. The ancient Aboriginal rock art was mind-blowing, and it really gave me a sense of time and culture. I also swam in Gunlom Falls’ natural infinity pool (so refreshing!) and took a Yellow Water Cruise where I spotted crocs, jabirus, and buffalo. Kakadu is Australia in its rawest form.
