Where to go? Sharing a one-day itinerary in Kanazawa

Since my accommodation was near Kanazawa Station and most must-visit attractions in Kanazawa are located around Kanazawa Castle, I decided to explore the city by walking or taking the "Kanazawa Loop Bus." This made it easy and enjoyable to connect the various attractions:

① Kanazawa Station: The waiting room walls are adorned with over 200 pieces of traditional crafts, and the station's striking architectural design makes it feel like a museum showcasing Kanazawa's traditional craftsmanship.

② Kenrokuen Garden: A traditional Japanese garden (details in another post).

③ Oyama Shrine: A shrine with a unique blend of architectural styles (details in another post).

④ Omicho Market: The market features stalls selling vibrant vegetables and fresh seafood, allowing visitors to savor the flavors of the Sea of Japan and experience Kanazawa's food culture.

⑤ Kanazawa Castle Park: Built on the site of the original Kanazawa Castle, this expansive park retains the Edo-period Ishikawa Gate and longhouse, with ongoing restoration of historical structures.

⑥ 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa: With the concept of an "open museum," don't miss the artworks displayed on the lawn in front of the museum.

⑦ Higashi Chaya District: Renovated traditional Japanese buildings have been transformed into cafes and shops offering Japanese sweets, traditional crafts, and miscellaneous goods. Enjoy shopping and dining in this charming, historic street.
