That day, the sky was a brilliant blue, the air as clean as if it had been washed clean.
I embarked on a journey to Fo Guang Shan with no particular plans, no preconceived emotions, simply to find peace and quiet.
Entering the grounds, I was greeted by magnificent Buddha statues and expansive pathways. A gentle breeze blew, and sunlight caught the golden tiled roof, shimmering brightly. The footsteps of tourists were soft, and the sound of bells echoed slowly in the distance—the whole thing was as still as a painting.
I followed the crowd into the main hall. Without saying a word or praying, I simply clasped my hands together and took a deep breath. In that moment, it felt as if the world slowed down, leaving only my heartbeat and my breathing.
I sat on the stone steps for a while, gazing at the mountains, the sky, and the people coming and going. This place is more than just a place of faith; it's a corner where one can temporarily let down their guard and gently say to themselves, "It's okay."
As I left, the sun was setting just behind the mountain, tinting the entire grounds in a soft golden hue. I didn't take anything away, but it seemed that I left behind some troubles, and also quietly brought back a quieter heart.
