Heping Island Park, located in Keelung City, is a natural tourist attraction with a rich history dating back to 1626. The Spanish army once used this island as a military base, and it was also used as a prison site. Later, it was renamed Heping Island, which translates to "Island of Peace" or "Island of Tranquility."
This geological park is known for its unique mushroom-shaped rock formations, sculpted over time by wind and seawater erosion. Visitors can also find multi-layered rock formations that are equally fascinating.
In addition to its geological wonders, the park features a public garden where visitors can stroll, exercise, and enjoy scenic views. It's a popular spot for Taiwanese families to relax and spend quality time together. The park also boasts an outdoor swimming pool with designated areas for serious water activities, complete with shower rooms, changing facilities, and shops selling swimming gear.
The atmosphere is serene, making it an ideal place to unwind. The weather is pleasant, with a constant cool breeze, ensuring a comfortable visit. You can easily spend 1 to 3 hours exploring the park.
