Keelung's most popular check-in spots

The Agena Shipyard ruins, located at No. 75, Lane 116, Zhengbin Road, Zhongzheng District, Keelung City, are a must-see destination in Keelung.

Its history dates back to 1919. A century ago, it served as a charcoal storage yard, storing charcoal mined at Shen'ao Mine.

During the Japanese colonial era, it was converted into an ore loading dock. After the Restoration, it served as a loading dock until the Jinguashi Railway was abandoned and mining ceased.

From 1966 to 1987, Xue Guohang, the head of the Agena Shipyard, primarily engaged in sailboat and yacht contract manufacturing. He was considered the founder of Taiwanese sailing and was a prominent figure in the sport.

After closing down in 1987, the site remained abandoned until social media became a viral sensation, and the ruins of the Agena Shipyard became a popular attraction.

A few years ago, you could enter the ruins to take photos, but now, for safety reasons, entry is prohibited. However, from the outside, you can still imagine the shipyard's former glory!
