✓ Kitano Ijinkan
Every major port city seems to have similar foreign residences. Whether it's Motomachi in Hakodate, Oura in Nagasaki, or Minatogawa in Okinawa, foreigners always seem to choose small hills to build their homes. Although climbing uphill can be a bit tiring, it offers beautiful ocean views—truly a way to enjoy life.
Kitano Ijinkan is quite similar, featuring residences from various countries, each requiring an admission ticket. If you'd like to visit one without spending money, I recommend the Line no Yakata (Former Drewell Residence), which offers free entry.
One of the most famous buildings in Kitano Ijinkan is the Weathercock House. Built in 1910, it was originally the residence of a German merchant. Its most distinctive feature is the rooster perched on the roof. Admission is ¥500.
