[Famous as the temple where the tragic love story of Junshin and Ouma took place]

📍Kochi Prefecture, 31st Temple, Mount Godai, Konjiki-in, Chikurin-ji

In 724, under the orders of Emperor Shomu, this is one of the most famous temples in Tosa, founded by the monk Gyoki in imitation of Mount Godai in China.

The principal image is counted among the "Three Manjusri of Japan," and as the 31st temple of the 88 sacred places in Shikoku, it is always visited by pilgrims.

There are many sights to see, including the Manjusri Hall, five-story pagoda, 17 Buddhist statues designated as important cultural properties, and a garden designated as a national scenic spot.

In autumn, the leaves in the temple grounds turn beautiful colors, making it a great spot for leaf-viewing!
