Delicious Detour at Châteraisé Kumamoto Hachioji: Cakes, Pastries & a Perfect Birthday Treat

We needed a birthday cake to surprise a friend and instantly thought of Châteraisé. A quick search showed that the Kumamoto Hachioji branch was the nearest, so we headed straight there—and we’re glad we did!

The shop has convenient parking right at the doorstep, which made things super easy. We parked and stepped right into the familiar charm of this beloved Japanese dessert chain, already buzzing with excitement.

Inside, we were greeted by rows of beautifully presented Japanese cakes, pastries, and sweets. While we went in with just a birthday cake in mind, I ended up picking up a lot more—how could I resist? Everything looked so tempting. Even though we have Châteraisé outlets back in Singapore, the prices here in Japan were noticeably more affordable, and the variety felt a bit wider too.

Of course, the highlight was the strawberry shortcake we bought for the celebration. It was light, fluffy, and just sweet enough—the classic Châteraisé standard that never disappoints. Everything else I brought back to try was equally satisfying. Their quality and consistency are what make them such a reliable choice.

All in all, a smooth and happy shopping experience. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just craving some good Japanese pastries, this branch is worth the stop.
