A Relaxing Walk Through Kurashiki – Where Time Slows Down

#cityplaybook

Kurashiki in Okayama Prefecture is a city where tradition and creativity come together. Its charming Bikan Historical Quarter is known for white-walled storehouses, old canals, and peaceful streets—perfect for a slow and thoughtful stroll.

I started my walk at Andersen Square, a lovely area with European-style touches and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a quiet place to sit down, enjoy the surroundings, and snap a few photos.

Then I visited Kurashiki Ivy Square, a beautiful red-brick complex that was once a textile factory. Now it’s home to museums, shops, and cafés wrapped in ivy—it’s especially pretty in spring and fall.

Why I recommend Kurashiki:
・The preserved historical streets feel like a journey back in time
・There’s a perfect mix of art, architecture, and calm local charm
