Rokkakudo in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, is officially called "Shiunzan Chohoji Temple" and is an old temple located in the city area of ​​Karasuma Rokkaku.

It is a pilgrimage site for the Thirty-Three Temples of the Western Provinces and the Thirty-Three Temples of Rakuyo, and is a historic temple that is said to be the birthplace of Ikebana.

When Prince Shotoku visited this area in search of materials for the construction of Shitennoji Temple, he received a divine message and built a hexagonal hall and enshrined a guardian Buddha, and even today the main hall is hexagonal when viewed from above.

Its shape is extremely rare among the many temples throughout the country, making it a must-see tourist spot for anyone visiting Kyoto.
