[Kyoto] Illumination of Kodaiji Temple, a temple associated with Hideyoshi

Address: 526 Kodaiji Shimokawara-cho, Higashiyama-ku
Bus: City Bus 206, get off at "Higashiyama Yasui"
Admission Fee: 600 yen

Kodaiji Temple was apparently built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's wife, Kita no Mandokoro Nene, to commemorate his passing. It's also known as a famous spot for viewing maple leaves, and is lit up every year during the autumn foliage season.

The photo was taken in 2022.

Highlights include the project mapping and the autumn leaves reflected in the pond!
There's also a bamboo grove, which is also lit up!

It seemed relatively quiet here compared to other temples that offer autumn foliage illuminations!
It might actually be a hidden gem?

This year's illuminations are scheduled to run from late October to mid-December.
Details are yet to be determined, so please check the official website.
