A Quiet Path Through Fushimi Inari Taisha

If you go a little further from the four-way intersection, you will see
Ganrikisha Shrine.
The first thing that catches your eye as soon as you arrive is the Kitsuisha Shrine.
It has a very unique appearance, as if it is doing a slight upside-down stance. Upon investigation, I found out that it is made of bronze and was installed in 1898 by Imamura Kyubei, the metalworker who also created the shachihoko (shachi) for Osaka Castle.
I was surprised, as this didn't make any sense!
To the left of it is the Ganrikisha Shrine.
It is said that not only will it cure eye ailments, but it will also grant you foresight and keen eyesight.
Since we use our cell phones and computers so often, it would be nice to have a shrine to help alleviate eye strain.
Seeing the many dedicated torii gates shows the strength of people's faith!
