The Gion Festival season has come again this year🙌
In ancient times, when an epidemic was spreading, 66 floats were erected to calm the epidemic, and the Gion Shrine's portable shrine was sent to Shinsen-en Garden to pray for the removal of disasters.
Currently, 23 floats are paraded around Kyoto City in the front festival and 11 floats are paraded around the city in the back festival🏮
During the Shinko Festival, Yasaka Shrine's portable shrine is also carried.
It's a hot season, but Kyoto city is filled with even more heat for a month with the Gion Festival 😆⭐️
