📍Address: Yasaka Shrine, Kyoto
🏖️Environment/Facilities:
Yasaka Shrine is one of the most famous shrines in Kyoto. It has a history of more than 1,300 years and is also a holy place for praying for peace and good marriage. Every year, countless tourists come here to pray or take photos. This is a Kyoto attraction that cannot be missed.
The architectural complex of Yasaka Shrine is very traditional Japanese style. The vermilion main hall is very eye-catching, especially in spring and autumn, when it is set against the backdrop of cherry blossoms and red leaves. It is beautiful beyond words! The morning sun shines on the temple, peaceful and sacred, and any shot you take will be a great movie!
If you want to experience a different kind of Yasaka Shrine, you might want to come again at night. The shrine is brightly lit at night, which is particularly romantic and a great place for couples to take a night walk. The hotel is surrounded by the lively Gion Hanami-koji Street, where you can also experience authentic Kyoto cuisine.
💞Recommended reasons:
After visiting the shrine, you can take a stroll through the nearby Gion Shopping Street, where there are many snack stalls! I especially recommend the matcha ice cream and glutinous rice dumplings, which are super Kyoto-flavored when you eat them while walking!
Hanami-koji is also worth a visit. Traditional Kyoto restaurants are scattered around. It is recommended to find a small shop to experience the authentic Kyoto taste!
🗓️Itinerary:
Take the bus from Kyoto Station to Gion Station and walk 5 minutes to Yasaka Shrine.
If you live near Shijo Kawaramachi, you can reach it on foot, which is very convenient!
Recommended visit time: 1-2 hours
