Eikando Temple in autumn🍁

If you go to Japan during the Dragon Boat Festival
My most recommended one-day tour route in Kyoto
If you like gardens and leisure, don't miss it.
Specific route: Blue Bottle Coffee → Nanzenji Temple → Eikan-do Temple → Philosopher's Path
1️⃣In the morning, have a cup of seasonal cake and coffee at Blue Bottle Coffee to start the best day of your day trip~
2️⃣Nanzenji Temple is the highest temple of the Rinzai sect in Japan
It was first built in 1264 as a royal villa and later converted into a Zen temple.
Whether it is the cherry blossoms in spring or the red leaves in autumn, they all have their own unique flavor.
If you go there during the Dragon Boat Festival, the green trees and the grand Sanmen Gate will also be stunning!
Time: Open from 8:40 to 17:00 (March to November) / Closed at 4:30 from December to February
3️⃣Eikan-do: The main hall of the Pure Land Zen School, also known as Chanlin Temple
It was transformed from an old manor of the nobility. It has courtyards, ponds, Buddha statues, wooden stairs, and pagodas. I think it is like the "Grand View Garden" of Japanese aesthetics!
Tickets: 600 yen for adults Time: 9:00-17:00 in summer
‼ ️You need to take off your shoes to enter the courtyard. There are many stairs inside, which is a bit strenuous.
A quick tour will take 1 hour, and a deep tour will take 2-3 hours
Walk around and take photos. This route will take about half a day to complete.
