Traditional Japanese tea house

There are many traditional tea houses in Gion, Kyoto and we picked this place- Gion Komori. I did abit of research before picking this place, good reviews on warabimochi and some says it’s the best? Of course need to try it out myself :)

The place is very nice and spacious, there are many different rooms upstairs, however the waiting time was abit long even on a non busy day. The selection here are good with English menu. I ordered a warabimochi set which came with a hot green tea, the warabimochi was good! Tasted very authentic and best paired with hot matcha.

The matcha shaved ice was abit disappointing, it’s just too sweet for me, but maybe some people will like it? But it was still good overall especially on a hot day. Overall it was a nice experience, can come here if the queue is not too long :)
