Compared to other lively shrines in Kyoto, I prefer the tranquility and antiquity of Shimogamo Shrine. This is one of the oldest shrines in Kyoto, officially known as "Kamo Goso Shrine", and is also one of the world cultural heritage✨

On the way to the shrine, you will pass through a whole forest surrounded by "糺の森"🌳. Walking on the forest trail, the sun shines on the moss and fallen leaves, the air is cool and quiet, like a natural forest bath.

The shrine sells cute and special amulets, which have different patterns according to different seasons💞

📸 You will pass by "Kawai Shrine" on the way, where the female god "Tama Yorihime" is enshrined, and there are very interesting "painted mirror ema", where you can put on makeup and pray for beauty!
