Heian Shrine: Welcomed by the Vermilion Torii Gate

⛩ Heian Shrine is one of Kyoto's most beautiful and iconic shrines. Established in 1895 to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the Heian Capital relocation, its grand shrine buildings modeled after the Imperial Palace of Heian-kyo are a must-see.

🌺 Especially during spring cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons, the shrine grounds are vividly adorned, making it perfect for photography! Additionally, the Japanese garden "Shin'en" features a pond-centered strolling design, allowing visitors to enjoy seasonal landscapes at a leisurely pace.

📍 The vermilion-painted torii gate is a landmark of Kyoto. The view while walking along Jingumichi is also highly recommended.

✨ Access

Approximately a 10-minute walk from Higashiyama Station on the Subway Tozai Line.

Right in front of the "Okazaki Park Museum/Heian Shrine" bus stop.
