Lianyungang Travel Guide in Jiangsu

🌈 Lianyungang is really a city that is "very un-Jiangsu-like"
Jiangsu doesn't have many islands, but here, there are groups of islands 🏝️
And there's the largest island in Jiangsu
I always thought Jiangsu had no beautiful seas
Until I went to Lianyungang, I found the sea here so blue

🚙【Transportation】

✅ The high-speed train only goes to Lianyungang Station, not passing through the East Station

🚕 Taxi: The starting fare for taxis is 9 yuan, and it costs about 70💰 to get to Lianyun District from Lianyungang Station

🚌 Rapid Transit BRT: Take the B1K bus from Lianyungang Station to Lianyun District, 2 yuan, and the journey takes one hour

✅ 3-day 2-night itinerary:

Day Haizhou Ancient City—Lianyungang City Museum—Democracy Road Old Street—Longhai Pedestrian Street—Yanhe Lane Historical and Cultural District

Day Yuntai Mountain by the Sea—Old Street of Lianyungang

Day Yangwo Head for sunrise - Lian Island - Xilian Island for sunset🌇

✅ Recommended check-in spots

Yuntai Mountain by the Sea: The "Rio de Janeiro" version of Jiangsu, where you can take a sightseeing car up the mountain ⛰️ then walk along the wooden plank road to enjoy the sea view overlooking the old town of Lianyungang, as well as the endless sea, mountain scenery, and the opposite Lian Island 🏝️

Old Street of Lianyungang: A large area of European-style buildings, very photogenic 📸 A cluster of European-style buildings, witnessing the growth of Lianyungang, with old buildings and snack streets, 🍜 there are also many interesting museums here

Lian Island: A Qingdao-like feeling, Xilian Island Village is a place to watch the sunset🌇 fishing boats, in the morning you can go to Yangwo Head to watch the sunrise lighthouse💫 During the day, you can go to Dashawan to play in the sand and water, and you can also take photos of the road leading to the seaside. Surrounded by the blue sea, you can rent an electric bike 🛵 and ride along the coastal road

Yangwo Head: At the easternmost point of Lian Island, the best place to watch the sunrise over the sea🌅, hiding the longest sea dam in China, inside Lian Island, vehicles can enter for free before 8:30 am, and after 18:00

Baojia Mountain: At the foot of Yuntai Mountain by the Sea ⛰️, full of fairy vibes, the stone steps of Tangwang Lake are very photogenic

🛎Tips
If you want to see the sea: It is recommended to stay in Lianyun District (seaside homestay or Jiaruibao Square)
If you want to visit the night market: It is recommended to stay close to the city center: stay in Haizhou District (near Yanhe Lane or Suning Plaza)
For seafood, try not to eat on the island, you can choose Xugou Seafood Street
If you have enough time, be sure to visit Huaguoshan and Yubay
