Macau, called the Little Europe of the East, Las Vegas, has many attractions such as cute alleys, fancy casinos, and luxury hotels that have a European feel, unlike Hong Kong.
Macau is not that big, but this small city has 30 world cultural heritage sites, so you can also experience a historical atmosphere.
Macau is divided into 4 areas: Macau Peninsula, Taipa, Cotai, and Coloane. If you want to explore cultural history, I recommend traveling to the Macau Peninsula.
The entire Macau Peninsula is called a cultural heritage site,
There are about 30 buildings and squares registered as world cultural heritage sites.
✔️St. Paul's Cathedral
St. Paul's Cathedral is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site and a landmark of Macau. It was built by Italian missionaries over a period of ten years from 1582, but it was destroyed except for the front due to a typhoon and fire in 1835, so only a part of it remains.
✔️Monte Fort
The center of the Macau Peninsula, right at St. Paul's Cathedral. It is a historical fortress right next to the ruins. It is a viewpoint overlooking both the city center and the sea of Macau.
✔️Senado Square
Senado Square is the largest square and the center of Macau.
It is a representative landmark where you can see Portuguese architectural buildings at a glance.
✔️St. Dominic's Cathedral
The first cathedral in Macau, built in 1587, St. Dominic's Cathedral
The interior is decorated in a gorgeous Baroque style and was initially used as a chapel for the Spanish Dominican Order.
✔️A-Ma Temple
It is the oldest temple in Macau and is located on the hillside of Bara Hill in the southwest of the Macau Peninsula.
It is also famous as the origin of the name Macau.
