Taking advantage of the perfect weather, I decided to visit Coloane today and chose Our Lady Village in Ká-Hó as my half-day trip destination.
Since I rarely go to Coloane, I started my journey with a bowl of Bridge Café's famous scrambled egg noodles—an absolute must! After that, I hopped on bus 21A and got off at St. Joseph's School in Ká-Hó. From there, I walked to the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows. Unfortunately, the chapel was closed, so I could only take photos outside. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and relaxing—completely different from the bustling Macau city center. With few tourists around, I could take photos freely without any interruptions!
Walking a bit further, I came across several yellow and red Portuguese-style houses and one purple house. These were the renovated exhibition halls of the former leprosy hospital. Inside, there were photo displays showcasing the history of the leprosy hospital. One of the houses even had a café, but it was closed on the day of my visit.
Behind the houses, there’s a small path leading to the Ká-Hó Lighthouse. Following the signs, I found the path easily. It’s a simple trail that takes about 10 minutes to complete. The scenery along the way was stunning, with views of the coastline, the Ká-Hó oil depot, and the blue skies and white clouds. It’s a perfect spot for taking photos—an underrated destination where you won’t have to deal with crowds, allowing you to capture the beauty at your own pace.
