Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, Mae Hong Son

Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, originally named Wat Plai Doi, is located on Doi Kong Mu, west of Mueang Mae Hong Son District in Mae Hong Son Province. It is considered the temple and stupa representing the province. Phra That Doi Kong Mu is a revered site consisting of two stupas in the Tai Yai-Burmese style, built in 1860.

Thailand has countless temples with the word "Phra That" in their names, but "Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu" is the only one of its kind in the country. The temple features a Mon-style stupa, which houses the relics of Moggallana from Myanmar and was constructed by the local ruler.
