One of the White Lotus Resort venues, stay in the rice field scenery of northern Thailand

To experience the holiday feeling of the rice fields in northern Thailand in Chiang Mai, the Four Seasons Hotel is the place to go. Half an hour's drive north from the old city of Chiang Mai, 30 years ago, the Four Seasons Hotel built a resort hotel in this Mae Rim Valley, with a whole set of natural landscapes, terraces, rice fields, tropical vegetation, and lakes. The rice fields are also home to buffaloes and geese, and sitting on the restaurant terrace or in the pool overlooking this scene, the folk style of northern Thailand is right in front of you.

The Four Seasons collaborated with Bill Bensley 30 years ago, and it is also one of his early masterpieces in the field of hotel design. The overall style is Lanna architecture in northern Thailand, and the villa rooms are all Lanna Kingdom-style teak stilt houses, which are well ventilated and retain traditional features.

More than 80 rooms are difficult to book in peak season, but it does not prevent you from coming over for afternoon tea, and you can still enjoy the beautiful scenery of a large rice field. Some time ago, I happened to catch up with the Chiang Mai chocolate-themed afternoon tea, and several desserts were developed around the chocolate flavor. Interestingly, the salty products also added chocolate elements, and the caviar was based on a not-too-sweet chocolate mousse, and the taste was unexpectedly harmonious and delicious.
