Tianma Mountain Forest Park is located near National Highway 104 in Fu'an, Ningde City, Fujian Province. Tianma Mountain is steep, with a ridgeline running east-west, and its shape resembles a celestial horse spreading its wings, ready to take flight.
Tianma Mountain, located in the southeast corner of Fu'an City, stands at an elevation of 107.8 meters and covers approximately 80 hectares. Comprising Tianma Mountain and Xiashan Mountain, it is named for its shape, which resembles a "flying horse." Enjoying abundant sunlight and heat, the area is spring-like year-round, with an average annual temperature of around 16°C, making it a prime spot for sightseeing. The "Ma Yu Xiangquan" (Fragrant Spring) at the foot of the mountain is ranked among the "Ten Scenic Spots of Hanyang." Near the spring is the Xiangquan Temple, founded in the Yuan Dynasty. To the left of the mountain entrance is the Mazu Temple, whose architectural style is similar to that of the Mazu Temple in Meizhou Bay. Ascending the steps, you'll be greeted by lush bamboo forests and the fragrance of camellia flowers. From the summit, you'll enjoy panoramic views of Hanyang. The mountain boasts natural and cultural attractions, including the seven-story pagoda built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and the Tiantang Temple, built in the Qing Dynasty. A poem by Chen Shili of the Ming Dynasty reads: "There is a nest on the top of Tianma Peak, where tourists want to climb up to borrow vines. The stars are close to my head, and the monkeys and cranes are in harmony with each other. There is less dust in the sky above the high pavilion, and the courtyard is cooler with green pines in June. The realm of mist and clouds is not of the human world, so I want to ask my old teacher why this is happening." It describes the extraordinary and otherworldly interest of the elegant scholars in old times in mountaineering.
