The most famous pagoda in Chiang Rai Province, it enshrines the left collarbone of the Lord Buddha and is the pagoda for people born in the year of the pig.

It is ancient, beautiful, and located on a hilltop about 2,000 meters above sea level, offering a full view of the natural scenery of Chiang Rai.

Phra That Doi Tung is a pair of golden pagodas in the form of a small bell-shaped castle on a square base covered with terracotta tiles. It is considered the pagoda for the year of the pig in Lanna belief.
