Malta, the small island where I found the greatest sense of relaxation.

Malta is not a big country, but it is a country that has different scenery and stories at every step. The deep blue color of the Mediterranean, old stone buildings, and the unique atmosphere of Europe and Arabia mixed in every alley. From the moment I first arrived, this place was definitely special.
In the old town of Valletta, I felt like time had stopped. Golden limestone buildings line the narrow alleys, and small balconies on each window make the city even more lovely. The sea of Malta seen from the Upper Barrakka Gardens was endlessly clear and deep. The yachts and small islands floating in the distance looked like a painting.
Sliema and St. Julian's had a completely different atmosphere. As you walk along the promenade while feeling the sea breeze, you come across cafes and restaurants, and leisurely locals and travelers mingle together. The sea here is incredibly transparent, and the color keeps changing depending on the angle at which the light hits it.
And the Blue Lagoon, which you absolutely cannot miss in Malta. The sea in Comino Island near Gozo Island was literally a clear emerald color that ‘showed everything under the water’. The view I saw while jumping off the boat and swimming was the most impressive sea I’ve ever seen.
Malta has a slightly different charm from a fancy city trip or a perfect vacation spot. It’s a place where European history and the leisure of the Mediterranean Sea quietly blend together. That’s why it stayed in my memory longer.
