Mazu Giant Statue - A Must-Visit Attraction in Matsu

When you arrive at Nangan in Matsu, you can spot the massive Mazu statue standing majestically on the mountaintop from afar. It's truly awe-inspiring! Standing at the foot of the statue, you'll be struck by its towering height, making you feel incredibly small in comparison. This place is not only a religious sanctuary but also offers breathtaking scenery! 🚢🙏

One thing to note is that reaching the statue platform requires climbing a short flight of stairs. Although it's not very long, it can be a bit tiring, especially in hot weather. Additionally, since it's located by the sea, the wind can be quite strong at times, so be careful not to lose your hat! 🌊

Atmosphere/Facilities:
The entire park is well-designed. Starting from the Blessing Tunnel, you can follow the trail upwards, and the Mazu Giant Statue will gradually come into view. The statue itself is crafted from 365 pieces of granite, symbolizing Mazu's year-round protection for everyone, which is deeply meaningful.

My favorite spot is the observation platform in front of the statue. The view is incredibly expansive, allowing you to take in the stunning sights of Fu'ao Harbor and the surrounding sea. The sea breeze here is wonderfully refreshing. This is also a fantastic spot to watch planes take off and land—seeing them glide right before your eyes is super cool! ✈️

Underneath the statue, there's a "Blessing Tunnel," which is short but worth exploring. You can pass through the tunnel, and it's said to bring good luck!
