A charming small town in Nagano Prefecture that you'll want to visit again: Matsumoto

Japan Travel Diary 15 - Nagano Edition

📍Matsumoto City

🚇Matsumoto - Matsumoto - Matsumoto -
If you've been to Matsumoto, this phrase will surely bring back vivid memories!

Located in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, Matsumoto is a picturesque small town where trains stop while chanting "Matsumoto" three times. It is a place where nature and urban beauty harmoniously coexist.☺️

Accessible by train from Tokyo or Nagoya, Matsumoto is famous for Matsumoto Castle and Nawate Street Shopping District. It's a tranquil town perfect for a relaxing getaway.

In autumn, you can enjoy the vibrant autumn foliage🍁, and in winter, the snow-covered mountains❄️ create a magical scenery.

As a small town, Matsumoto offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere, with clean and charming streets that make it an incredibly delightful place to visit.

Among the Chubu region, Matsumoto is one of my favorite destinations☺️.

If you're planning a trip to Nagano, I highly recommend staying overnight to fully experience its charm.
