When we visited Melbourne, we had the chance to stop by the State Library Victoria. Located right in the heart of the city, it’s incredibly easy to find. As soon as you step inside the building, you can immediately sense its rich history and grandiose architecture.
The highlight for me was definitely the La Trobe Reading Room. This library features a massive octagonal dome ceiling, with tables and lamps beautifully arranged in circular patterns. The atmosphere is serene and truly awe-inspiring, making it an ideal spot for reading or working. Just sitting and admiring the beauty of this room is worth the visit.
Apart from the library itself, the State Library Victoria also hosts various exhibitions. There’s so much to see, from ancient books to diverse artworks. If you’re into history or architecture, this is a must-visit destination. It’s not just book lovers who will be impressed; I couldn’t help but envy the locals who have access to such an amazing place.
