Katsuō-ji Temple🛕: A must visit temple in Minoo!

Katsuō-ji Temple, located in Minoh, Osaka, Japan, is a historic Buddhist temple known for its scenic mountain setting and association with good fortune and success. Established in 727, it features beautiful pagodas, gardens, and countless red Daruma dolls, symbolizing perseverance and achieving goals. The temple is especially popular in autumn for its stunning fall foliage.

Recently I visited this temple during my trip to Osaka. It was one of the temple that is in my recommendation list! It is located in a slightly outskirt area in Minoo, but worth the travelling to visit. It is still accessible via train 🚊 and bus 🚌. I’ll put down how to go below based on my personal experiences! 😆

You may purchase a Daruma doll for prayers and leave them anywhere in the temple or even bring it home! It’s your choice! A side note, when you purchase the entry ticket, you will be giving an empty postcard where you have to walk through the temple and get it stamped in 6 stations to get a complete postcard. I’ll not post the outcome here, experience it yourself!

📍Address: 2914-1 Aomatani, Minoh, Osaka 562-8508, Japan

How to go:
Step 1: 🚊 Take a train to Minoh-kayano Station (Midosuji line)
Step 2: 🚌 Take the Bus Hokusetsu Cemetery Line 30 [Direct] to Katsuoji
Step 3: 🚶Walk 1 min to Katsuo-ji Temple

Tips:
1️⃣ Consider visiting Minoh Falls on the same day in your itinerary as they are pretty near to each other!
2️⃣ Check out the Minoh Takimichi One-Way Sightseeing Shuttle Bus (Operates on Sat, Sun & Holidays) for other sightseeing places within the proximity.
