Walking through Rome's streets in the gentle spring breeze, you’ll find yourself standing before the magnificent Duomo, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. While its exterior is grand, stepping inside is truly breathtaking. The golden ceiling, intricate mosaics, and the serene sight of people in prayer create an overwhelming atmosphere.
The spring sunlight streaming through the windows felt especially soft and warm. Sitting inside after passing through the flower-filled square, it felt as though time and worries had come to a halt. It wasn’t just a tourist spot—it was a place of true respite.
Having visited many European cathedrals, this one undoubtedly stands out. Visiting during spring made it even more special. If I return to Rome, this is a place I’d love to revisit.
