Munich's "Englischer Garten" (English Garden) is one of Europe's largest urban parks, even larger than New York's Central Park! It's soothing to watch locals picnic, jog, and even surf in the lush greenery. 🌳
We especially recommend the "Eisbach Waves" 🌊! Watching people surfing on the artificial river is a sight truly unique to Munich. There are also beer gardens scattered throughout the park, perfect for relaxing with a German beer. 🍺
Access is about a 15-minute walk from Marienplatz or close to the U3/U6 "Universität" subway station.
The key to success is "comfortable shoes and plenty of time." 👟 The park is vast, so take your time to stroll around and find your favorite spot. The morning and evening light makes it a great time for photos. 📸
