Experience the New Year in Nanjing: Is the Egret Island Park Lantern Festival Worth It?

❤️ The lantern festival is themed "Egrets and Snakes, 600 Years of History," featuring 46 colorful lanterns that recreate the lanterns of the Shangyuan Festival 600 years ago. The lanterns are beautiful, and I personally think some of the main lanterns are quite dreamy, but not particularly stunning.
💖 Lantern viewing route in the park
Wudingmen Subway Station → South Gate → Yanbo Bridge → Xinyuan Building → Yinyue Bridge → Wanyue Bridge → Huanhua Bridge → Qiubo Bridge → Xiexiu Pavilion → Yuanjia Bridge → South Gate (you can also go around to the North Gate exit, which leads directly to the Confucius Temple)

My favorite main lantern this time is "Hongfu Qitian Sui Ping'an," with the sleepy little qilin being too cute. There is a market by the lake where you can buy some food and sit by the lake to enjoy the view while eating.
💚 Tips for visiting:
① Money-saving tip: If you're not in a hurry, you can buy a day ticket to enter the park, wait for about an hour, and the lanterns will light up. You can enjoy both the day and night views. I tried a few snacks on the street in the park, and they were pretty good.
② It's not recommended to bring a stroller to the park during the Spring Festival.
③ Our route was to visit the park and then go to the Confucius Temple. Around 9 pm, the crowd was smaller, and we had Jiming Soup Dumplings without queuing. Then we took the subway from the Confucius Temple Station.
④ Try to prepare a transportation card in advance, as there are long queues for tickets during the Spring Festival. You can apply for a card in the Alipay travel section and use it.
