If you come to Nanjing, I highly recommend this hotel by Xuanwu Lake

As a local blogger in Nanjing, the question I get most in my private messages is where to stay for the first time in Nanjing and if I have any hotel recommendations.
Before, I usually said if you have a budget, stay near Xinjiekou, Xuanwu Lake, or Confucius Temple.
But when it comes to recommending a specific hotel, I usually avoid it because it's hard to balance quality and price in the city center area.
However, today, my friend booked a hotel in Nanjing that really surprised me. It's right by Xuanwu Lake (with direct subway access everywhere), and downstairs is the newly opened commercial Huamao Center, with quite high quality (see pictures).

Ascott is actually a serviced apartment. Compared to traditional hotels, serviced apartments feel more like home, with a stronger sense of living.
Most have separate living rooms and bedrooms, which not only offer better privacy but also provide a better resting space for families.
Facilities like kitchen, refrigerator, and washing machine are standard here.
If you get hungry at night, you can make some simple meals yourself.
Although it’s a serviced apartment, it also has a gym and swimming pool.
Breakfast is also very rich, including some local Nanjing specialties.

🏰 Public areas:
The hotel is integrated with the newly opened Huamao Xintiandi (you can directly access the subway station from the hotel’s basement level).
Entering the hotel through the first lobby, there is a garden, and further inside is the check-in lobby.
The gym is worth mentioning — it’s huge, with a very complete set of equipment, offering an amazing experience. There’s also a swimming pool, free for guests.
On the fourth floor is a leisure lounge, which even has a Nintendo Switch available for guests to play for free.

Since it’s a serviced apartment, the rooms have kitchens, washing machines, refrigerators, and stoves. Personally, it feels warmer than a regular hotel.
The windows are also quite large, offering a full view of Nanjing’s cityscape.
