10,000 points redemption | Experience at the newly opened Le Méridien Nantong: Excellent design and hardware, suitable for both family trips and leisure travel
✅ Pros: Unique design, new hardware, great room upgrade benefits, clean swimming pool, excellent executive lounge experience, convenient surrounding amenities, high value for points redemption
🧹 Areas for improvement: Some rooms may have slight residual panel odor, breakfast variety could be enhanced, supply consistency of breakfast wontons could be improved, compatibility between room coffee capsules and traditional equipment needs optimization
Redeemed 10,000 points for this newly opened hotel. With a casual attitude as a Platinum member, successfully upgraded to a top-floor executive room with views of Sam's Club and the canal. Upon initial check-in, there was a slight odor in the room, likely from the natural emission of the extensive wall paneling. The opening promotion was 688 RMB booking with 5,000 bonus points, but later found that points redemption only required 10,000 points - getting a hotel worth about 500 RMB with points is already a great deal.
This newly opened Le Méridien excels in both design and hardware. The signage and corridors feature many exquisite details, unlike some templated decor seen in newly opened Marriott or Sheraton hotels. It blends French elegance with trendy novelty. Rooms are equipped with TOTO smart toilets, TVs harmoniously embedded in picture frames, plus many clever little ornaments and lamps, full of creativity.
The pool experience was fantastic - few people around at 8pm, allowing for uninterrupted swimming. The water was clean and refreshingly cool. The executive lounge has high aesthetic appeal, isn't crowded, and the food variety is decent enough to meet dining needs.
For breakfast, the variety could be improved. The wontons sometimes sold out but would be replenished later - the supply rhythm could be more consistent, though the taste was good. Compared to Le Méridien Suzhou Bay, the variety is slightly lacking. The room provides illy coffee, but the capsules don't perfectly fit traditional machines, making them inconvenient to take away.
For parents looking to "lazily" entertain kids on hot weekends, this hotel is ideal. Le Méridien Nantong just opened last December, with most rooms having no noticeable odors. Platinum members can upgrade to corner rooms which are very spacious with appealing decor. The pool even has a children's section, perfect for families.
The surrounding amenities are convenient - right across from Wanda Plaza, with IKEA and Sam's Club nearby. The same building also houses a Courtyard by Marriott with better value.
Soundproofing/Hygiene: No mention of soundproofing; pool water was clean, overall hygiene condition good.
🏘️ Room type/layout: Possible to upgrade room types with Platinum status (like top-floor executive rooms or corner rooms), spacious rooms; some offer views of Sam's Club and the canal.
🛌 Amenities/facilities: Opened last December with new hardware; features TOTO smart toilets, illy coffee; has both adult and children's pools; excellent executive lounge environment.
💰 Average cost: 10,000 points redemption (referencing the opening promotion of 688 RMB booking with bonus points, points redemption offers outstanding value).
💗 Other tips:
- Platinum members may upgrade to executive rooms or corner rooms - can communicate in advance.
- Points booking offers great value - 10,000-12,500 points for redemption, ideal for points usage.
- Pool has children's section, perfect for hot weather family trips - suggest preparing swimwear in advance.
- Nearby Wanda Plaza, IKEA, and Sam's Club offer convenient dining/shopping - can plan itinerary accordingly.
- Breakfast wonton supply has intervals - check availability times if interested.
