Kasuga Taisha Shrine is located in the deepest part of Nara Park.
Surrounded by the pristine sacred area of Kasugayama (Mikaiyama),
Its quiet atmosphere is like being in the embrace of God.
This is an ancient shrine with a history of more than 1,200 years.
It protects Nara and is the head shrine of Kasuga Shrine in Japan.
It is also registered as a World Cultural Heritage.

The vermilion columns are a distinctive feature of Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
Every 20 years, the shrine holds the "Shikinen-zotai"
Repaint it with vermilion paint to beautify the temple.

This is the shrine with the most lanterns in Japan.
