Todai-ji Temple Review

📍 Todai-ji Temple Review

This was the most impressive place during my trip to Nara⛩️. Located within Nara Park, the walk to the temple was peaceful, accompanied by deer roaming freely🦌. The deer would approach and bow their heads as if greeting you, creating a unique atmosphere that can only be experienced in Nara.

Inside the main hall (Daibutsuden), you are greeted by a massive Great Buddha statue (Daibutsu). Seeing it in person is truly overwhelming—not only is it enormous in height, but the intricate details of the carvings are so precise that you find yourself standing in awe for a long time🙏. The interior is dimly lit, creating a serene ambiance, and although there are many visitors, everyone naturally lowers their voices, adding to the mystical atmosphere.

The temple grounds are spacious, allowing you to take a leisurely stroll while admiring the surrounding architecture and nature. There are also historical explanations scattered throughout, which make the visit even more interesting. On the way out, there are plenty of souvenir shops and food stalls, making it a pleasant way to wrap up your visit🌿.

Overall, it’s a place where "grandeur and tranquility" coexist. I believe it’s a must-visit landmark if you’re traveling to Nara.
