On this trip, I visited Balcón de Europa, a balcony overlooking the azure Mediterranean Sea! 🇪🇸🌊✨
🛄ㅣBalcón de Europa Travel Experience
Walking along the coastal path in Nerja, you'll come across a long, protruding plaza. This is Balcón de Europa. Literally meaning "Balcony of Europe," this observation deck offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Costa del Sol coastline, and is a signature landmark of Nerja!🏘
As soon as I entered the plaza, the boundless panorama of the Mediterranean Sea filled my vision. As I approached the railing, the azure sea stretched out before me, stretching to the horizon. The water's color changed constantly, from pale emerald to deep cobalt blue, as the sunlight bathed it. The sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs below echoed softly from the balcony.
Small beaches line both sides of the observation deck. To the left, the cozy Playa Calahonda Beach, and to the right, the breathtaking coastline stretches all the way to Burjana Beach. On clear days, the silhouette of the African continent can even be faintly seen in the distance. ⛰️
In the center of the plaza stands a statue of King Alfonso XII of Spain, a beloved Nerja. The railing next to the statue is always crowded with travelers seeking a souvenir photo. If you take a photo with the statue, you'll feel as if you're looking out over the sea with the king.👍
The charm of the Balcón de Europa changes day and night. During the day, you can enjoy the vibrant scenery of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding beaches sparkling under the intense sun. As the sun sets, the crimson sunset paints the sea, creating an even more romantic atmosphere. As the sun sets and darkness falls, the melodies of the guitars and gentle breezes from the cafes and restaurants surrounding the plaza create a unique charm!🌊
This place is more than just a lookout overlooking the sea; it's a stage where the daily lives of Nerja's people and the excitement of travelers intersect. Standing on the railing, feeling the azure sea and Mediterranean breeze with my whole body, I naturally understood why it was called the "Balcony of Europe."🫠
